I always hoped that private websites would employ a certain code in their communications to its members, I understand that rules need to be enforced and I have no objection to them doing so, but when communicating those enforcements and rules those communications should be made without bias, witout ego, without secondary agenda and, most certainly, should not read as though they contain sarcasm, vitriol or anything but fact. I copy below a conversation from a private websites staff member (I have stared out any reference to the website in question and have no interest in revealing the source).
I work in a customer facing environment and if i were caught using this kind of language / speaking with this kind of tone I would be out of a job instantly for gross incompetence.

I work for **********. I love my job. I'm responsible for the Help Desk Team, the *** Team, and the ***. It's my responsibility to ensure that the rules and policies in place are being enforced correctly, amonst many other things.

There are millions of ******* on ********** who can send in a **** **** ticket, or a note to me directly advising of any particular ******* who is breaching those rules. I don't care whether you delete the journal or not. But I do care that you are attempting to spread misinformation about a very simple situation.

For the final time, I'll try to say it nice and clear for you.

If you don't have permission to use someone else work, don't upload it. This will result in your work being deleted and quite possibly an additional suspension or ban.

It would be better for everyone if people spent more time trying to comply with such basic rules than writing accusatory journals against people which are founded on untruths.

Nobody can "ask for bans", honestly, that's some crazy tinfoil moment you've got going on there."
